Today’s Quotes:
What can I know? What ought I to do? How can I hope? —Immanuel Kant (1724-1804)
Most people think that shadows follow, precede, or surround beings or objects. The truth is that they also surround words, ideas, desires, deeds, impulses and memories.
-Elie Wiesel, writer, Nobel laureate (b. 1928)

HOMEWORK:
-
Study for the Frankenstein test and organize your Frankenstein assignments so that you can turn them in after self scoring them. The essay portion of the test has you cover FOUR aspects of English Romanticism, making reference both to the novel and any four of the outside readings.
- OJ12–reaction to Heart of Darkness.
-
OJ 13
Write a Frankenstein parody–you may do this with a partner. It can be any humorous creation in reaction to the novel and its characters. Many things are possible–Elizabeth’s version of things, maybe Victor’s other brother Ernest has a story to tell, maybe you do a heavy metal rock ballad, maybe a music video cries out to be made. Whatever it is, it should not be serious (unless it is seriously funny).
- Continue to work on your part of the position paper.

Here is a link to an article about the influence of Sherlock Holmes stories upon our thinking.
