What’s my color

Take all 3 tests (Kiersey Temperament Sorter, Hartman Color Code, and Gregorc Learning Styles) and then read any FREE descriptions about your personal colors and fill out the slip with your results!

To find your “true colors,” you will take two different COLOR Tests and a LEARNING STYLES INVENTORY!

TEST #1: Kiersey Temperament Sorter

First, take the Kiersey Color test to determine your “primary color”:

  1. PRIMARY COLOR:  PINK TESTS  Take the shorter pink one first.  Then, take the Kiersey (the longer pink one)  NOTE:  If you want to, do the second pink one, the Kiersey, online instead of doing the pink paper copy.  To do the Kiersey online, THIS IS THE LINK THAT WORKS, go to http://www.advisorteam.com/temperament_sorter/register.asp?partid=1 It might to be under www.advisorteam.com   It’s called the TEMPERAMENT SORTER.  You have to give some personal info, but it is a safe site.  Do not pay anything for your resultsPrint out the results before they prompt you to pay for a more extended version of your results.   Print out the FREE mini-report, and bring it to class tomorrow.  Here is how your Kiersey results translate to colors Artisans = Orange, Guardians = Gold, Idealists = Blue, and Rationals = Green.  For lots more great information on the major colors, click http://www.keirsey.com/  TEST #2: Hartman Color Code Take the Hartman Color Code test to determine your “secondary color”
    1. SECONDARY COLOR:  IVORY HARTMAN TEST  Take the IVORY color group inventory (from Hartman’s book, COLOR CODE)  to determine your secondary COLOR CODE colors.   Also, the ivory COLOR CODE Hartman test is now online!  You can have family and friends do it. Here’s the link to Taylor Hartman’s Color Code website & test http://www.thecolorcode.com/  (Oh no!  Hot off the press!  You can check out his website, but I heard he’s charging now!  UGH!)

    TEST #3: Gregorc Learning Styles

    1. Take the WHITE GREGORC Learning Styles inventory to find out your learning style (AS = abstract sequential, CS = concrete sequential, AR = abstract random, CR = concrete random

    OPTIONAL TEST #4: Myers-Briggs

Find it online!  I think this link works:  http://www.kisa.ca/personality/ COPY DOWN YOUR LETTERS, and BRING THEM TO CLASS.  Here’s a link to explain what your  letters mean: http://typelogic.com/    For a list to find out how your Myer-Briggs letters translate to Kiersey’s colors (Orange, Gold, Blue, Green), click HERE.

NOW THAT YOU’VE TAKEN ALL THE TESTS, FILL OUT THE WHITE SLIP WITH YOUR RESULTS OF ALL TESTS–including the Myers-Briggs letters if you did that test, too.  BE SURE TO JOT DOWN AS MUCH INFORMATION AS POSSIBLE.

    But, wait!  There’s even more!

FINISH OJ 4 (BACK SIDE):  FINAL THOUGHTS ON COLORS!  (This journal when finished should now be 2 sides minimum.) After being in COLOR groups for a bit now and reflecting on what you think of the whole COLOR IDEA, write a minimum of a page telling more about this topic.  You may consider the Kiersey colors (Artisans = Orange, Guardians = Gold, Idealists = Blue, and Rationals = Green)  or the Hartmann colors (yellow, red, blue, white) or even the Gregorc Learning Styles (AS, CR, AR, CR).     Some topics to consider: personal reaction to the whole idea of these types of tests, the whole concept, and your colors, literary character application (using what you know of the colors, pick out several characters from the summer novels–and, if you like, additional characters from any works of literary merit you have academically studied such as  Holden Caulfield, Tom Joad, Atticus Finch, Huckleberry Finn, Lenny, George, Hester–and predict what color each character probably would be had he or she the opportunity to take the COLOR TESTS.)   Maybe read some specific articles linked below that give you more information about your individual color results:  KEIRSEY ORANGE, KEIRSEY GOLD, KEIRSEY BLUE, KEIRSEY GREEN, HARTMAN YELLOW, HARTMAN RED, HARTMAN BLUE, HARTMAN WHITE.
